Cryotherapy, an ally of care

The Bastide of Callian is the first center to offer cryotherapy treatment to relieve pathologies with a micro-inflammatory component such as chronic pain and certain forms of anxiety and depression. Cryotherapy consists of a sudden drop in temperature to about -140°C for 3 minutes. This phenomenon of thermal shock leads to different physiological responses including the secretion of endorphins (hormones for well-being and analgesia), the regulation of inflammation (a major factor in the majority of psychic and somatic disorders with multiple components) and the triggering of the “cleansing” of abnormal cells. In addition, muscle tone is increased. This technique has been proven in many European countries and represents a state-of-the-art treatment. The effects last for about 6 months after an intensive treatment of 2 sessions per day for 14 days.

Testimony from a health executive at the Bastide de Callian, with whom we spoke, informed us that the returns from the cabin were convincing, especially for the treatment of fibromyalgia, a disease that associates chronic pain with unjustified fatigue and sleep disorders.  The results are very good and in times of crisis, medication was no longer necessary.

For some patients, the pain was such that the medication had little or no effect.

After using the cabin, the results were so good that taking medication was no longer necessary.
